Question
when i turn on both my map lights the compass on dash goes blank just two dots. When I turn on just one the light in the back seat comes on. Also the lights are very dim. We checked the fuses and they seem fine.

Answer
I am competing to be 'expert of the month' and need your vote of confidence.
The race for "expert of the month" is going down to the wire.
Chrysler "repairer" vs. Microsoft "coder".
One vote per each answer is permitted.
Click on "Thank/rate" button below, then click on "Yes" for nomination.
Deadline to vote is Thursday, 4 PM CT.
Thanks

Hi Melissa,
Did the lamp problem get resolved? If you would like to tell me there is a "Thank/rate the expert" button below which if you click will take you to page where you can "comment".
May I also ask a favor? On that same page you will see the question "Would you like to nominate this expert to be 'volunteer of the month"? If you will click on "Yes" that would be appreciated.  I am competing for that recognition which is based on nominations from questioners like yourself. Achieving it will increase awareness of the Chrysler repair category.

Hi Melissa,
If you are speaking of the reading lamps in the overhead console then I would believe that one of the bulbs is shorting to ground which drags down the voltage and causes the other effects. To check that out, use a soft wooden stick to pry out slightly the front edge of the lens covering the bulb, then slide the lens forward (toward the windshield until it releases from the tab to give you access to the bulbs). Try a new bulb in both sockets and see if that works out. I believe the bulb is # 578. If not then there is a short in the bulb switch itself.
