Chrysler Repair: 02 town and country minnivan: no starter, solenoid switch, starter solenoid

Question
QUESTION: hit a deer and had to replace radiator, hood, driver headlight
assembly wnet to start it cel flashes 10 times and starter will not engage is there a switch on bumper or some where that needs reset or replaced new batery installed already

ANSWER: Hi Jesse,
Check fuses 9 and 23 in the power box under the hood, and if those are OK then check to see if the starter motor relay clicks (also in the box) when a helper tries to start it. Let me know what is the result. There is no switch that needs to be reset.

QUESTION: fuses are fine and relay clicks

Answer
Hi Jesse,
Did you get the starter straightened out? If you would like to tell me there is a "Thank/rate the expert" button below which if you click will take you to page where you can "comment".
May I also ask a favor? On that same page you will see the question "Would you like to nominate this expert to be 'volunteer of the month"? If you will click on "Yes" that would be appreciated.  I am competing for that recognition which is based on nominations from questioners like yourself. Achieving it will increase awareness of the Chrysler repair category.

Hi Jesse,
That simplifies things: I assume that you don't get a loud click from the starter motor solenoid switch, correct? If so, then either the relay's points are not connecting or there is a problem between the relay and the starter solenoid switch which it operates. Try removing the relay and substituting an identical part no. relay for it from another socket in the box and see if the solenoid will then click and the starter crank. If not, then it is not the starter relay which is at fault. I would suggest that you take a short piece of wire and jump across from the rear pin of the starter motor socket (which should be hot via fuse 9) to the front pin of the socket (which goes on a yellow/gray wire to the solenoid). If it doesn't cause the starter motor to click and start the action then assuming the battery is installed cleanly it suggests that the starter solenoid is bad. Verify that the rear pin is indeed hot at the starter relay socket, just to be sure. The only other possibility is that the engine isn't well grounded to the - post of the battery as the result of the accident so check all the ground wires of the - post of the battery to see that they are all tightly connected. If the solenoid does click already, then the starter motor itself or the fat red wire needs to be tightened up. But be careful because it is really hot, due to direct connection to the battery. Best to remove - post clamp if you are going to handle it at all.
