Chrysler Repair: 99 Concord hood cable detached from hood mechanism, hood latch, postal mail

how do i get the hood open if the hood cable is either detached from hood lock or cable has broken?

Hi Nic,
If you will look up from under the car, from just behind the "bumper" panel which is now called the fascia, you will see an arm-like lever several inches long that is pointed toward the front of the car, exactly where the latch mechanism is located. If you either pull on that arm (what they call a "pawl") OR push it sideways toward the driver side (I am not certain which is the procedure so try both) it will release the hood latch. Then you can look at the cable and its attachment to the latch mechanism and determine what you need to replace. There is a 10-step replacement procedure I can xerox copy and postal mail to you.
