Chrysler Repair: 1997 Voyager/theft alarm problem, postal mail, fuse box

Question
The exact description of my problem is:
I have a 1997 Voyager. When I unlock the door and get in, the van start the engine, none of the gauges work and the engines shuts off. Sometimes you can wait ten minutes and it will start no problems other times a few hours. I tried to disarm with the key only in the drivers side, and with the remote control, when I arm the alarm if it flashes it disarm fine, when is failing when I arm it, it does not flash, the light is fix for about 7 sec. This problem I had it four times in a period of 3 years, I don’t know when it will come back. The last time I was using the car without the fuse # 28 call IOD to avoid the alarm get arm, so I close with the key or with the engine on using the lock button, but the alarm light never flashes so I fell secure to don’t have the problem again until it happens. Thank you very much for your help.

Answer
Hi Sergio,
I sent this answer yesterday (with one small error I have now corrected):
Have you tried the door lock on the passenger side to see if it will disarm the system?
If that side works, then you know the system is OK and the problem is the wire or the key lock switch in the driver's side door. The wire that you need to check goes from the door key lock (white/dark green color) and then that comes out of the door in a harness of wires and goes to a connector just on the other side of the door opening (pin 11 of that connector), and from there it goes to pin 45 of the left natural 40-pin plug on the lower edge of the fuse box under the dash. I suspect the wire is broken where it gets bent from opening and closing the door, or the switch at the lock may not be conducting. The procedure to remove the door trim panel is too long to type in here. But I will copy and postal mail you the pages if you will tell me a postal mailing address.
I can't tell you what is causing the intermittent problem, but the way to avoid it is to either fix the door key lock switch OR the wire (which ever it at fault), or use the passenger door to lock and unlock the vehicle, or never use the power door locks or key lock, or key fob to lock up the van, but rather use the push buttons to secure the doors.
Those are the possibilities.
