Chrysler Repair: 89 4 cyl. firing order, plymouth acclaim, firing order

Question
i have been looking for the firing order and a diagram of it for a 1989 plymouth acclaim. It is my mothers car and i'm not sure of the engine size. i do know that it is fwd. her neighbor changed her plugs and wires and now it won't start. it turns over and tries to start but only gives a sputter every now and then. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Todd,
The firing order is 1342, with the rotor turning clockwise. The #1 position of the rotor is around 10:30 location. You might want to check for fault codes that might give a hint as to the no start cause. Turn the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the 'check engine' light which remains on to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to be sure you have the counts accurately. Then group the counts in pairs in the order of appearance. The last number should be 55, which is the code for 'end of readout'. The other numbers are relevant so let me know what they are or go to www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a translation.
