Chrysler Repair: 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Noise, chrysler sebring convertible, 2004 chrysler sebring

Question
Hi Roland,

I have a 2004 Sebring convertible with the 2.7 engine.  I can detect 2 distinct noises that my mechanic admits he cannot hear, but his hearing is not the best anyway.  The first is a high-pitched ringing that resonates when I am maintaining throttle at 35mph and also more prominently at 72mph.  When I decelerate from 75 to 70 it is also very evident.  The other sound is lower-pitched and more of a tonal noise or whine.  I can hear this usually at idle and when accelerating normally, but it is most prominent when maintaining throttle at 50 mph.  I don't believe the 2 sounds are from the same source, and I can only hear them with the top up and the windows closed.  The number of accessories being used does not seem to have an effect and neither noise is coming through the radio.  My mechanic cannot find anything wrong with any of the mechanicaal components on the car.  If you might have an idea where either sound might be originating I would appreciate your advice.

Hi Tony,
While I haven't any personal experience with that model, my only suggestion would be to check the exhaust system rubber bushings/hangers for the possibility that some part is making contact with the frame.
