Answer
Hi Riley,
The alarm is disarmed by using the door key to unlock EITHER front door. So if that disarming is not happening by unlocking the driver door, then instead try to unlock the passenger door using the door key to see if that will turn it off. There is a wire between the door lock and the body computer alarm section that may be broken for the driver door lock but is OK for the passenger door lock.
If that works, but you don't want to hassle with opening the other door to get the alarm disarmed, then you can avoid the problem entirely by never setting the alarm. That is done by never using the key or the power door lock system or the hand held switch but instead when you leave the car merely push down the buttons on the door panel which mechanically lock the doors. Then the alarm system will not be 'set' in the first place so you won't have to worry about the disarming problem.
The failure to start is of course a symptom of the alarm going off. Once you 'clear' the alarmed condition it will start. If you can't clear it by unlocking the passenger door with the key let me know and I can probably tell you how to do it by going to the body computer and faking it out.
