Chrysler Repair: 2005 Chrysler 300C key fob - intermittent, 2005 chrysler 300c, mirror module

Question
Sometimes my key fob works like planned.  Most times I have to unlock door with key which sets off the alarm (really annoying!).  Then get in insert key in ignition to get alarm to shut off.  Dealer is no help - every time I take it in, the fob works A-OK.  HELP!  Mirrors don't always point down when I put car in reverse - are these issues related?  How can I fix this - I am slowly going crazy in Denver.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jeff,
Have you tried replacing the batteries in the key fob? They are stated to have a 2 year life.
On the mirrors, there is in the circuit of the mirror module a connection (no doubt via the digital data wire) to the transmission range sensor that is supposed to tell when the trans is reversed. I don't have the wiring diagrams so I can't point you to it. I doubt there is any relationship between these two issues.
