Question
I have a 2005 Sebring Convertible 2.7L engine with a Code of P0406 which is EGR Valve.  Where can I locate this under the hood?  Is it easy to replace?  Should it Be replaced?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Moe,
I don't have an '05 manual for the 2.7L engine, but I wonder if it even has an EGR. There is some indication in the '04 LH-car manual that the egr was no longer needed. If it is, it would be located at the rear of the engine, just below the throttle body area. There is a double pipe that connects it to separate banks of the engine. It would simply unbolt but probably a bit of a hassle to get to. If it is not the egr position sensor's position sweep sensor, then it may also be the several wires involved in the position verification circuit used to verify the proper function of the valve. But I would start at a dealer parts counter to be sure that there is an egr valve on the engine to begin with. It appears to me that by '05 they may have been eliminated.
