Chrysler Repair: 2008 Chrysler 300 - No Start, 4 digit numbers, flood conditions

Question
I recently bought a 2008 Chrysler 300 @ auction. The car was previously registered to DTG (Dollar/Thrifty Rental). The sales report says that the car experienced flood conditions and wont start. I put a battery charger on the car and the everything powered on except for the motor. I don't think its water damage, rather its something to do with the security system, seeing that the car was towed no less than 3 times. Is there any way to see if its the security system that is causing the car not to start? I checked all of the fuses and have the keyfobs.

Answer
Hi Eli,
If it is a theft system that is keeping it from starting it would demonstrate that by starting and running for a couple of seconds and then cutting off. Pure no start is probably not the theft system. Have you tried for fault codes using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time? Then watch the odometer window to see if the mileage reading changes to show any 4-digit numbers preceeded by a P. Those would be clues about the motor won't start. Let me know the codes and we can go from there. One caveat is that I don't have the wiring diagrams for the 300 model so new as '08.
