Chrysler Repair: 41te 0750 code, solenoid pack, transmission control module

Question
i have a 0750 code on my town and country 02 replaced solenoid pack the trans was opereting fine and fluid is clean parked the vehicle and next day it would not shift out of low gear trans doesnt seem to go in to limp mode though any insight would be app.

Answer
Hi April,
There are two general possibilites: the current from the transmission relay may not be getting to the solenoid circuits due to a defective relay or an open wire, or the wire involved with controlling the low/reverse solenoid circuit may be either open, shorted to ground or shorted to the operating voltage line. All those can be checked out quickly with a volt-ohm meter. Finally the transmission control module could be bad or there might be some other intermittent wiring problem but those would be the least likely reason. I am a bit surprised when you say it doesn't go into limp mode because that would be the programmed response to this code. Are you sure it is not locked in 2nd gear rather than low? I would have the shop that did the work check the LR solenoid circuit which is basically between pins 4 and 7 of the solenoid pack socket, and also verify that 12V is present on pin 4 (output of the relay). The wire on pin 4 goes to the relay socket's inboard rear pin. The wire on pin 7 goes to pin 20 of the trans control plug and that should be checked to be sure it is not shorted to ground or to the 12v wire. So those would be the connections to check  You might want to start by checking fuse #15 in the box under the hood with all the fuses and relays (on the driver's side inner fender) as that is the source of current for the trans relay. That fuse being open/blown would make it behave as if it were in limp mode, too.
Good luck on getting to the bottom of this and don't bite for a big repair job.
