Chrysler Repair: 94 electronic transmission, voyager 3, fuse box

Question
94 plymoth voyager 3.3l 3 speed with overdrive. I think.. Anyway 2 days ago the tranny slipped out of drive i let go of the gas. It droped in low. It won't shift at all after this. When i restart the van and drive around the parking lot it shifts out. When i get on the road however when it goes to shift into drive it goes out of gear then goes to low. Everytime! Why?

Answer
Hi Thomas,
Have you checked the fluid level in the trans? If low, only add ATF+4 and don't overfill it.
If your shift selector shows you have 'OD', then it is a 4-speed electronic trans. You can get a fault code readout using the blue socket that is under the dash on the left side near the fuse box. The fault codes will be 2-digits and offer a clue as to what is wrong. Get a readout at an independent trans shop that has a Chrysler Data link connector plug and a reader that is capable of interacting with the transmission controller in order to get to the memory and find out the fault codes. Let me know the results and we can go from there.
