Chrysler Repair: 98 3.0L noisy distributor/drive gear?, cam shaft, drive adaptor

The distributor was making noises. I changed the cap and rotor. It's still there. I was thinking the distributor drive adaptor. What do you think? I also swapped distributors yesterday, so it can't be that both distributors have faulty bearings.

Hi Jeremy,
Why not give it a try, particularly if the sound is coming from that area? You could begin by inspecting the drive gear on the cam shaft without removing anything but the distributor. Perhaps the adapter body is not screwed on tightly? It looks like you would have to remove the timing belt and cam sprocket before you could actually replace the gear or the adapter body.
