Chrysler Repair: 95 engine stalls, chrysler lebaron, engine stalls

Question
i have a 95 chrysler lebaron and it dies while in drive satting at a light if you take the wires off the map sensor it dose't what could cause that

Answer
Hi Tim,
It could be your MAP sensor is inaccurate and when you unplug it the computer uses an estimate to keep things going but not well. First I would disconnect the battery for about a half a minute, then reconnect which will clear out the old fault codes from the memory including the one you set by disconnecting the MAP. Then drive it until is stalls and then read out the memory to see what the new code is. You turn the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the flashes before each pause. Then repeat to be sure of an accurate set of flash counts. Then group the counts in pairs in the order of appearance to form the 2-digit fault code numbers. You will find a 12 because you disconnected the battery and the last code will be 55 which means end of readout. Any other codes are relevant as to why you stalled. You can get a code list at www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html or write me back with the codes and we'll go from there. The code for a problem with the MAP is 13.
