Chrysler Repair: Intermittent Starting Issues, T&C Lxi 98, wave flow, latent defect

Question
Kevin,
I read your post in April about the PC board on the cluster of my 1998 Town & Country, and it seems like you've nailed it.  It aways starts in the morning, but when you're on your way home, it may leave you stranded.  Some other internet sources go as to say the cause was a faulty wave flow solder process during manufacture, and that multiple thermal cycling over time has caused some of the solder joints to develop high resistance (thought still testing with good continuity) which affects the memory bus.  Some say the security system cuts off the engine and only after the battery is depleted or the 4 hour cycle elapses can you try again.
ANyway, 2 questions.  Do you think reflowing each solder joint on the old card with a soldering iron will work?  I'm concered the new or refurbished card may hae the same latent defect.
Second, you describe having to reprogram the card.  Can you describe that a bit more? WOuld I have to do it if I only reflow the joints?

Answer
the new boards I have put in have not had an issue in over 5 years thus far.
Plus look at the length of time the one U have worked for 10 years.
U can try and re solder the points  it may or may not work.
U wont be able to reprogram a new board a dealer would need to do that.
