Chrysler Repair: One wheel brake wont release properly, chrysler cirrus lxi, 2000 chrysler cirrus lxi

Question
I have a 2000 chrysler cirrus lxi and the left rear brake overheats to point of not being able to touch the hub cap---the calipers wont release and they are new as of today.Help!!! This problem is why I changed the caliper in the first place. Is there some pressure valve that controls each brake seperately that I could change. Can't take another large repair bill.

Answer
Hi Joseph,
I would suggest that you replace the rubber hose that runs from the caliper to the metal brake line on the chassis. That hose can wear internally, become partially occluded and thus present a resistance to the fluid back-flowing after you release the pressure on the caliper. Thus, as you suggest it acts like a valve, which of course it isn't supposed to do.
