Chrysler Repair: engine chugs at idle only, 4 digit numbers, odometer reading

Question
My 99 dodge avenger v6 chugs at idle (when at stop light) and feels like the engine wants to die. I recently replaced the timing belt, spark plugs and wires and the egr valve. The engine runs fine at driving speed but at every stop light it idles normal then chugs and so on. Any advice? Every once and a while the car hesitates when taking off from a stop but never when at crusing speed (any crusing speed) the chug only happens when the car is stopped at lights ect. When in park, i can hear an occasional miss in the idle.

Answer
Hi Keith,
Try the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch to see the odometer reading change from miles to any 4-digit numbers preceeded by a P. Let me know and we'll go from there.
