Chrysler Repair: dome light/auto locks operate on their own, bing bing bing, auto locks

I have a '97 town and country.  Recently while driving down the road, the dome lights will flash on and off, the door locks will go up and down, the gas empty "bing" goes bing, bing, bing.  I will take the neg. cable off the battery for an hour to reset things and this works for about a week before it all starts happening again.  Can you suggest some things to check or replace?  I am pretty handy with cars, but just not sure where to start with this problem.  Thanks for your time!

Almost certainly the problem is that one of the two front door is not secured tightly enough to the frame so that the door ajar button is not being pushed in firmly. Try pushing out on both front doors and you should find one of them will cause the interior light to come on even though it is nominally latched. Simply move the latch striker that is mounted in the door frame in-board a fraction of an inch so that the door will still latch easily but not be so loose.
