Chrysler Repair: water on the floors: convertible, drain holes, rain storm

Question
I have a 1997 Sebring convertible jxi .  I am tired of the
water on the floors after every rain storm.  It seems to
come through the bottom or something.  I have noticed on
other sites that this seems to be a common problem.  Is
there a way to prevent (repair) this to keep it from
happening so that I can put new carpet in the car?

Answer
Hi Jou,
Have you checked underneath the vehicle along the seams of the body metalwork on each side where there are drain holes? These might be blocked by debris. Look where there are folds in the sheet metal, along a seam that runs between the front and rear tires.  Use a stiff wire to clean out the drain holes. Leakage can't be stopped when you have a convertible but water which leaks in can be drained away and not be allowed to buid up.
