Chrysler Repair: 1994 Jeep Grand Cheorkee:message center/ac clutch, grand cherokee laredo, engine coolant

I have a 1994 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4 x 4 with AC and a straight 6 cyl.  My question is my Information Center (in the center of the dash console) occasionally beeps and flashes, Coolant Sensor Bad.  I have changed the coolant sensor in the thermostat housing and the gauge works fine. Not sure what else there is to change or if there is another one where it is. ALSO,  My ac just went out.  Was working fine.  Does the compressor automatically shut off when freon is low?  Thanks,  Dann

I don't have specific familiarity with the Jeep details, but I believe there would be two sensor of engine coolant in that era. One at the thermostat housing which is needed to inform the engine computer so that it can set mixture and the other to operate the temp sensor on the dash. So perhaps it is saying that there is a discrepency between those two sensors. So you might try changing out the one for the gauge reading.
On the A/C, yes there is a system pressure sensor which tells the engine controller, when too low, prevent the compressor clutch from engaging.
