Chrysler Repair: replacing blower: 93 New Yorker, chrysler new yorker, vacuum lines

Question
QUESTION: i have a 1993 chrysler new yorker and the blower quit working so no heat, no air. i've heard you need to remove the glove compartment to get to the blower. how do you remove the glove compartment.

ANSWER: Hi Kathryn,
Is this the 'new' for that year LH body car, or the last of the old body New Yorker? That would be relevant to my answer. And you checked the fuse, and also verified that it won't even operate on high speed?
If it is the older C-body style, the glove box is removed by first opening the door and removing the light bulb socket and disconnecting its wiring, then the remote trunk lid release switch and its wire, then remove the 7 screws around the edge of the door opening and the box should come out at that point. Let me know if you need the instructions for replacing the motor. On the LH body, you don't have to remove the glove box, but the pad/duct on the lower edge of the dash should be removed to give you better access to the underside of the housing.

QUESTION: it might help to have motor replacement instructions.  my husband is trying, but he needs all the help he can get.   thank you. i have no idea about the body style you were asking about.

Answer
I mentioned the details of the two different bodies in a revision so look at the answer again. For the older body, after you remove the glove box, remove the 2 vacuum lines from the recirc door actuator and disconnect the blower wire. Then remove 2 screws at blower housing securing it to the unit cover. Then remove 5 screws around the blower hour and separate housing from the unit. Remove 3 screws securing blower and wheel assembly to housing and separate from the unit. The procedure is the same for the LH except that the grommet on the blower wire has to squeezed and push through the opening.
