Chrysler Repair: 00 CONCORD LXI 3.5 BATTERY DEAD, push button door locks, power door locks

HELLO I HAVE A 2000 CHRYSLER CONCORD LXI 3.5,,,,NEVER HAD
ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL 2 WEEKS AGO MY CAR WAS PARKED SOME1 HIT
N RAN WHILE GETTING A FLAT TIRE FIXED THE DAMAGE TO CAR IS
REAR TRUNK AND BUMPER BY THE GAS TANK. I NOTICED AFTER THE
TIRE WAS FIXED THE CAR WENT DEAD THEY GAVE A BOOST IT
STARTED. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO START AND THE CAR WAS DEAD
I WAS GIVEN A BOOST WENT TO ADVANCE AUTO SD BATTERY
ALTERNATOR STARTER ALL OK. 3RD DAY THE CAR WOULDN'T START I
BECAME FRUSTRATED A FRIEND CAME OVER AND GAVE GAS AND THE
CAR STARTED SO FOR 1 WEEK THE CAR MAY START ON ITS OWN OR I
HAVE TO GIVE GAS TO START, 2DAY THE CAR WOULDN'T START
RADIO DASH AND CLICKING BUT NO START.... ANY SUGGESTIONS I
THINK THE ACCIDENT PLAYS A PART BUT MY DEDUCTIBLE IS 500.00
AND I CANT AFFORD IT, SINGLE PARENT 2KIDS AND OUT OF WORK
SINCE OCT WITH CARPAL TUNNEL.. DO YOU THINK THIS IS A CHEAP
FIX?

Hi Mia,
I wonder if the trunk light may be stuck "on" all the time. That is the only part that has power to it in the rear, and there is a position-sensitive switch that turns on the light in the trunk and it might have gotten moved  when the car was hit. I would check that out as the reason for the battery draining and you could simply remove the bulb from the trunk light fixture if that were the case until you have a chance to fix the switch.
If that doesn't correct the drain, the remove fuse 19 from the fuse box behind the dash (remove the left end cap from the dash (open the driver door for access) which will unfortunately also kill all the courtesy lights and the vehicle theft security system. But at least that should stop the drain. The trick though is to stop using the vehicle theft system:e.g. don't try to lock the car using the power door locks, or the remote key fob. Simply use the push-button door locks by hand when exiting the vehicle or the door key. You can use the key to unlock the doors also. You just don't want to set the alarm system as that fuse needs to be 'in' to disarm it.
