Chrysler Repair: Chrysler blower motor - 2000 Sebring convt., blown fuse, hacking stuff

Question
QUESTION: If the resistor has blown twice in last 6 months on my Sebring convertible, should I try lubricating the blower motor (if possible) to hopefully stop it from over heating and shorting the resistor or get a new blower motor and resistor? And is blower motor easily accessed to replace? Thanks

ANSWER: replace the blower motor  3 screws under the pass side dash.

QUESTION: One final question....I read elsewhere where someone else had the same problem so they removed the blown fuse built-in the resistor and just connected the wires (bypassing the fuse - no fuse to blow) and his has been running fine since. Do you think this is safe? What could happen? I assume the fuse is there to stop the blower motor from over-heating. I always turn the fan off unless I am using it.

Answer
it not a fuse  its a resistor  the whole point of the resistor is to get different speeds.

I dont condone hacking stuff like that  u will burn up and cost more in the end  if U dont want to do as I suggested thats your choice dont expect me help u rig something up I only do things like this the right way or no way.
