Chrysler Repair: valve body springs, plymouth voyager, 1999 plymouth voyager

Question
Hi Kevin. When I was removing the valve body on my 1999 Plymouth Voyager (with a 41te), the accumulators and their springs fell out before I could see where they went. One has two springs, and the othe has one. Could you please tell me what holes to put what springs in? Thank you!

Answer
Hi Bryan,
'A picture is worth a thousand words'. I can xerox a page from the manual and send it to you. Let me know a postal mailing address. The one with two springs is the underdrive, the single spring unit is the overdrive. The pistons (which have 2 seal rings) go in first, then the springs follow. If you view the trans with the engraved numbers right side up ("631 1-..") the two holes are above that engraving. From that point of view, the underdrive goes in the left hole, the overdrive in the right hole.
