Chrysler Repair: 2000/2001 Neon: Passenger Side Window Fault, neon 2, side switch

Question
I own a right hand drive (UK) 2000/2001 Neon 2.0L and the passenger (left) side window will not open when using the actuator on the door itself, or the drivers door switch.  It was working but stopped when a passenger either tried to open the window before the ignition was in the ready to start position or when the passenger tried to open the window at the same time as I actually started the engine - either way it's not working now and I can't replicate the situation to start it working again.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Steven,
The passenger side window motor switch can either get power itself or from the driver switch as you know. The common item that is needed is the passenger side switch as the current always flows through it. So I would focus on that switch and then the motor in the passenger door.
The switch can be removed from the door trim panel by gently prying up around the edge. First check for voltage (12V) to be present between pins 3 and 4 of the switch plug when you have the ignition switch in the run position. Let me know if you don't. If you have voltage, then check the switch for continuity after removing its plug.  Off should show continuity: 1-4,2-5,3-8; up should show continuity: 1-4,1-8,2-5; and down should show continuity: 1-4,1-5, 3-8. If that checks out, then the motor is probably bad. Apply 12V voltage between pins 5 and 8 of the plug (either polarity will reverse the direction) to see if the motor will respond. If not, let me know and I'll tell you what to do to get to it.
