SOMETIME WHEN I HAVNT DRIVEN FOR A DAY OR TO ILL START IT SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR NOTHING HAPPENS MIND YOU MOST OF THE TIME I DON'T PRESS THE BRAKE WHEN I PUT INTO A GEAR,IS THIS A SAFTY FEATURE ????? BUT IT SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN I DO PRESS THE BRAKES SO IDK BUT I WAIT 30 SECONDS PUT IT BACK INTO PARK RETRY AND EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECT DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT IS,I FIX MY CARS MYSELF BUT I DONT WANNA SWITCH TRANNY IF IT WAS A SAFTY FEATURE OR AN ELECTRIC PROB OH MINE IS AN INTREPID ES

Hi David,
I don't believe there is a safety interlock between the foot brake and the gear shift, so there is no relationship between that and whether the trans moves the car. Have you checked the level of fluid in the trans via the dip stick for it? Use only ATF +4 if you are low, but do not overfill it.
