Chrysler Repair: 94 LHS check engine light, chrysler lhs, 94 chrysler lhs

Question

My 94 Chrysler LHS (105K miles) is runnung perfectly but has frequently been settung the check engine light after 30 minutes or so of driving.  It will stay on until the car is restarted.  It has codes 34 and 51 set.  I understand code 51 and found information about checking the O2 sensors but didn't see any info regarding code 34 "speed control solenoid circuits".  Can you tell me what code 34 is about?

Answer
Hi Mark,
That also can mean that the cruise control switch is showing 'on' all the time, which probably means that there is a problem with the clockspring flexible connection between the steering wheel and the steering column, but maybe something in the control unit itself too. Does the cruise control work? If not then we can go through some testing. There is an 8-page section in the powertrain manual for '94 I can xerox and postal mail you.
But that issue does not turn on the 'check engine' light. So best deal with the oxygen sensor first.
