Chrysler Repair: heater core flow obstructed: 99-on LH body, heater core, air bubble

Question
the heater core hoses. one is hot and one is cold. antifreeze level is normal.

Answer
Hi Michael,
That shows that the water is not circulating effectively through the heater. I would suspect that you have an air bubble in (or possibly an obstructed) heater core. There is a funnel (Miller Tool Part no. 8195) that is used to properly fill the system which you may want to get from a dealer or parts store. I would be able to xerox and postal mail you the instructions for partially draining then properly refilling the system to clear the air bubble out. I will need a postal mailing address and would copy it tomorrow. If you want to check out the heater core when you are ready to refill it you could remove the hoses that go through the fire wall to the heater core and try backflushing via a garden hose to verify that it is open.
