Chrysler Repair: Accessory ports on the junction block, plymouth grand voyager, accessory ports

Question
I have a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 3.3 L V6.  I also have a new Cobra 18 WX ST II CB radio, with the three-wire power cable. One is hot all the time, one is switched, and of course the third is ground.

I had a similar radio installed in my 1997 Voyager, and I think the junction block was laid out differently.  I recall a couple of spade connectors (and maybe a wire tap?) and the wiring was in.  Where do I plug the wiring in to the junction block for the constant and switched 12v on the 1998 Voyager?  Or is this to wires behind the lower dashboard console near the floor?

If I had to put it in with wire taps, that is ok was well.  I just don't want to set off the air bags!

Answer
Hi Loel,
I don't have any experience installing aftermarket radios so I can only tell you how the factory radio is installed. Allexperts site does have a category for auto radio that you might want to also address your question to.
The contant 12v power is on the M1 circuit, pink wire on pin 17 of the lower right multi-wire plug at the underdash "junction block". That comes from fuse 28 under the hood that is rated at 10 amp and is called the ignition off draw fuse. The switched 12v vor the radio comes from pin 24, red/white wire, from the lower left plug that comes from fuse 8 rated at 10 amp in the junction box proper. The ground for the radio it to the center support of the instrument panel under the dash.
I have no idea if these wires could be double up for the cb or ir in practice some other circuits are to be used. The panel lamp driver wire is orange and comes from pin 1 of the lower right plug.
There are two 'spare' fuse sockets in the box (3 and 14) so you might want to just assign one of the those for the constant supply  wire to the fuse socket.
I hope this is of some help, but I do recommend that you check with the auto radio 'experts'.
