I got the Hanes book, it is useless, I need instructions and some type of diagram, please help me it is our only car and I have no money

Answer
Hi Paul,
I need to know which engine and year just in case to give you any help. Use the 'thank/rate' tab below to get back to me with the info.
There is a space for comments to which I will respond.

it is a V6 3.0 liter, Chrysler

Yes, the water pump is driven by the timing belt which is on the front of the engine. You have to remove some of the front items on the engine to get to it, unfortunately. I can xerox copy and postal mail you the pages from the manual that tell you how to get into the timing belt area, remove the timing belt, remove and replace the waterpump and then put the parts back on at the front of the engine. It would help me too to know what is the year and model of the vehicle as some details vary depending upon which chassis you have.
Ask a "new" question, since the thank/rate won't be available again, and just tell me your postal mailing address and the year and model of the vehicle. I will copy and mail you the instructions on Monday.
Also tell me which Haynes manual you have. I am surprised that you find it 'useless' as generally they are better manuals than other competitors. I do have the Chrysler oem service manual which I will use to make copies for you.
I would also suggest that you buy a new timing belt and replace the old one at the same time as these wear out in about 100,000 miles so the routine when doing the pump is also to use a new belt unless it has been changed recently. It is too much effort to do the job again if the timing belt fatigues soon after replacing the water pump.
Thanks so much for the nomination, I appreciate that.
