Answer
Hi Valerie,
I don't have the circuit diagrams for Jeeps, but I suspect that you need to cancel the alarmed situation before you can move ahead with the jump start. The system does have to be under battery power to reset the alarm, so there will be another sound outburst but it may not last long if you can cancel the alarm quickly. I would believe that the cancellation is routinely done by unlocking either front door. So I would try the passenger door: put the key in the lock and then have a helper jump to the battery. Then quickly turn the key to the 'lock' position, then to the 'unlock' position, the to the neutral remove key position and see if that silences the alarm. If not, try the same on the driver door. If not, then try it the same thing on the tail gate lock. If none of that works then an attempt will have to be made to jump some wires at the body computer under the dash.
Once you get it turned off, you should be able to jump start it. Then avoid using the power door locks or the remote, or even the key to lock up the car. Only use the mechanical push buttons so that you don't 'arm' the system in the future.
