Question
have a 97 breeze with a 2.0 in it. just did a head gasket on it when it was put back togeather it coil and the crankshaft got pluged in backwards. the problem im haveing is now in have power the everything but the coil.also the asd relay has power to it at all time at the place where it should only be getting it when the key is on.i've replaced the pcm and now am lost as to what to do now.

Answer
Hi Paul,
The ASD is supposed to have power to it all the time on the red/tan wires on the 91 and 97 pins of the relay. The power comes out of the relay on the dark green/orange of pin 89 which goes to the fuel injectors, spark coil, and the powertrain control module (pin 67).  The relay is activated by pcm when it 'sees' pulsing from both the cam and the crank sensors which happens when you are cranking and when the engine is running (it closes the relay by grounding pin 93). Check to see if there is 8V on the orange/white wires at those sensors when the key is in run. And if you turn the engine over by hand (using ratchet on the crank pulley bolt) with key on, then you should see the voltage measured between the other two wires at each sensor pulse between 5v and 0.3v several times per revolution. See if you have all that. Then if you do, see if you have spark when cranking. If you don't have all that then let me know what is missing.
