Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Town and Country rear alignment, chrysler town and country, axle alignment

Question
We recently took our 2004 Chrysler Town and country mini-van for an alignment because it turns easier to the left than the right. The mechanic reported the front alignment was nearly perfect but the rear wheel alignment was off about 5/16"on the left rear tire and 3/16 on the right rear tire, causing the rear of vehicle to track slightly to the right. The mechanic reported that the rear axle could not be adjusted and the vehicle may need a new axle assembly installed. This seemed strange to me considering the factory must have some way to adjust the rear axle alignment when built. Note the vehicle has no signs of damage to the axle and has not been in an accident. Can it be adjusted on the mono-spring so it tracks straight? Any information appreciated thanks.

Answer
Hi Ken,
According to the '98 factory manual, which is the latest I have, and the '95-99 Haynes manual, the rear suspension is not adjustable. The factory manual says to check the "ride height" if there is out of spec issues with the rear suspension. I can send you the page that list the toe, camber, ride height and thrust angle specs. It states that out of spec results should prompt a check for worn suspension parts on the rear.
Sorry to not have any newer information but the manuals are too expensive for my volunteer effort here.

Please use the 'thank/rate' tab to get back to me without having to wait for me to be available to take a question. There is a space for comments where you can list a postal mail address if you want me to xerox a copy of the specs. While you are there, if you would consider putting a "yes" where you see "nomination?" that would be appreciated.
