Chrysler Repair: wet electronics in Pacifica 04, fuse box, residual moisture

Question
QUESTION: problem:no power to accessory with key in on/acc,dash board lights stay on with keys off and out of the vehicle, alarm does not trigger key remote, locks don't work with interior manual switch, locks don't lock with key remote etc,etc....

thank you

ANSWER: Hi Twinedge.
I would be suspicious of the ignition switch. I don't have a manual for that model vehicle but Chrysler engineering is consistent in its wire codes. If you find you can easily get to the ignition switch (usually removing the covers on the top and bottom of the steering column, and if you have a voltmeter, I can tell you what positions of the key should produce 12V on the various colored wires. If they are 'off', then something inside the switch has come loose.

QUESTION: It all started on the driver side.when it started to get water down the panel behind the dash and break pedal.Think I solved that, but not sure yet...
BCM is located at the upper left of break pedal..I'm really hopeing it's what Roland says....Any thoughts,Roland?

Answer
Hi Twinedge,
That puts a much different frame on the picture! Sure, getting water on/in the bcm/fuse box and interface can cause all sorts of gremlins such as you describe. My suggestion would be to separate the bcm/fuse box into the two parts so that you can dry out the interface which contains electical connections between the two devices. Use some spray electrical contact cleaner which will evaporate away residual moisture. Also remove the plugs and similarly spray the pins and sockets.  Then put it back together and see if the problems are solved. Good luck on the project.
