Answer
Hi Harpeet,
Are you using a plug-in code reader to try to get fault codes? The ignition key approach will not produce codes.
The symptom of fail/recover has a 'hint' of a failing crank or cam sensor, so that would be my suspicion. The distributor contains the cam, so more likely this time it would be the crank. It could be verified by measuring the voltage pulses across the crank signal(gray/black) and ground (black/light blue) wires WHILE it is in the failed state. When you turn over the engine by hand with a socket on the crank pulley bolt and the ignition switch in the 'run' position you should see the voltage oscillate between 5V and 0.3V several times per rotation. If not, then the crank sensor is bad.
Other than that you might want to check that the egr valve is not sticking slightly ajar.
Watchful waiting for a valid code is the remaining strategy.
