Chrysler Repair: Chrysler 300 2005: out fuel, now wont start, start sounds, appreciative thanks

Question
i bottomed out my 300 and know it wont start sounds like its not getting fuel i was thinking the car shut off the gas any thoughts

Answer
Hi Daniel,
The only thing I have heard is that you may have to put in more than 2 gallons of gas to get it re-primed. Also, when you turn the ignition switch to the "run" position, listen for the hum of the fuel pump for about 1 second or so... that is normal. If you don't hear the hum then we have a problem to deal with. Otherwise, with enough fuel back in the tank is should start up again. There is no other shut off involved.

PS Use the 'thank/rate' tab to get back to me without having to wait for me to be 'available to take a follow-up question. There is a space for comments, to which I will reply. Also, in the evaluation section there is a tab for "nomination" for me to be 'expert of the month'. If you you would be so kind as to change that to "yes" I would be most appreciative. Thanks
