Chrysler Repair: 2.5 V6: adjusting serpentine belt, chrysler cirrus, 2000 chrysler cirrus

Question
How do I tighten the s-belt on a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus with a 2.5L V6 engine? When cold and at low idle, the belt sometimes squeals until the engine goes over 2500rpm. There seems to be a good deal of play in the belt.

Answer
Hi Mark,
Earlier, last month, you asked me a question about that problem with your vehicle. Now I need to ask a favor of you. I am competing for the honor of being the "Expert of the Month" for December. You can help me by going the the 'thank/rate' tab below and look for the question that asks if you think I should be so-honored. If you would select the 'yes' option I would be most appreciative. Please do this before 6pm CST today, New Year's Eve when the competition ends. I wish that your Chrysler vehicle is running well and gives you good service in the New Year!

Hi Mark,
The idler pulley, between the alternator and the compressor is what you adjust. Loosen the bolt on the shaft of that pulley, then notice an adjusting screw, at right angle to that shaft (the head faces the the front of the car), which you turn to tighten or loosen the belt to the tension you like, then relock the pulley shaft bolt to 40 foot-pounds.

PS Use the "thank/rate" tab to get back to me with any further questions. There is a space for comments to which I will respond.
While you are there, if this answer has been helpful, please nominate me to be "expert of the month". Thanks

PPS The voting for 'expert of the month' ends tomorrow afternoon. If you would be so kind as to find the "nomination?" area of the 'thank/rate' tab and change the 'no' to a 'yes' that would give a vote. Thanks.
