Chrysler Repair: Stall/Hard start after refueling: code 0129, tank problem, dodge stratus

Question
Hi, I have a 2003 Dodge Stratus SE Sedan Automatic 2.4 vin X 90k miles, it runs perfect but after refueling within a minute while idling the engine would drop rpms like it was going to stall and then return to norm untill next refueling (seems like a evap sys problem) ? But tonight after refueling it took 2 trys to start and then the check eng light came on, I drove home shut it off, restarts fine light still on. It shows code PO 129 on odo readout after switching key on and off to display hard code. Is the MAP Sensor allso a Baro Sensor on this and do you think this is related to the tank issue? Could it be a false code with the tank issue being the main problem? Any ideas . thank's in advance. captb

Answer
Hi Brant,
I would expect that if it were an evap system/tank problem that code would also come up. The focus of 0129 is on the MAP which reads the barometric pressure of the manifold, and of course the enviro pressue when the engine is not turning. The problem could be the MAP, the MAP voltage supply (5V), the MAP signal circuit, or the idle air control circuit. If you would like the 3 pages from the powertrain manual that lists the diagnostic test approach let me know and I will xerox and postal mail them to you.
