Chrysler Repair: 2004 pacifica hvac control, slide pots, calibration test

Question
my 04 pacifica has the dual climate control head that can be set to fully automatic. last fall the mode stuck and would not blow out the defrost. the dealer "calibrated" the control head to repair. This fall the mode is stuck on dash vents and will not change to any other setting no matter what buttons are pressed. Is the calibration of the head something I can do myself or is it necessary to connect to a computor scanner?

Answer
Hi Steve,
I don't have a Pacifica manual but here is how to do the calibration test in the minivan control panel which may well be the same for your vehicle. Let me know whether it worked or not, please. Sorry for the delay, your question just appeared in the 'pool' this morning.
CALIBRATION/DIAGNOSTICS TEST ENTRY
TO INITIATE TESTS:
Set Blower motor ON HIGH
Set Mode position to Panel
Open all A/C outlets
Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if equipped)
Depress WASH and REAR WIPER button simultaneously for 5 Seconds (Until all LED's light)
RESULTS:
All LED's will turn on for 5 Seconds
Calibration Test is running when REAR WIPER and INTERMITTENT are alternately flashing. Cooldown test is running if A/C and RECIRC are alternately flashing.
Acceptable results is REAR WIPER LED is the only LED flashing. Push Rear Wiper to exit.
After all tests have passed, Calibration Diagnostics and Cooldown can be run separately.
