Chrysler Repair: 1996 dodge caravan erratic fuel regulation, 4 digit numbers, dodge caravan

the dodge caravan releases fuel erratically without control and idling is erratic too.I replaced the ECU but got the fuel consumption averagely controlled but vehicle wont rev at this stage. Am still searching for a suitable ECU,please assist

What are the fault codes? Try the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then count the number of flashes before each pause that the check engine light shows. Repeat. Then tell me the counts in the order of appearance. Those are the OBD-I codes. The controller (if it is a '96) also stores OBD-II codes that you get with a code reader and are more detailed. Get a readout for free an Autozone parts store, or an independent shop for about $40. Let me know those 4 digit numbers. If you write back tell me which engine you have. The ecu should be matched to the engine/transmission/model year of the vehicle.
