Chrysler Repair: 99 Eclipse transmission: codes 52,54,86, 1750, mitsubishi eclipse spyder, chrysler transmissions

Question
it is a 99 mitsubishi eclipse spyder with an f4a23 trans. i have been working on it for over a month and can't really figure it out at this point.

Answer
Hi Ryan,
I don't find a 1750 code for the Chrysler transmissions of that time period so I can't give you any specifics of what might be the solution. That is of course and OBD-II code. The 52 and 54 codes are OBD-I codes and the manuals for the pre-96 Chrysler transmissions say those are input/output sensor ratio errors suggesting internal transmission problems requiring removal and disassmbly. The 86 code is one that doesn't appear in any of my manuals, nor does the end clutch or kickdown band appear.
I believe you would want to find an Eclipse transmission manual because I am not certain that the Chrysler manuals are applicable.
Best of luck.
