Question
could you please help me my 1999 2.5 td voyager oil light flickers and beeps while i am going up the gears 1st to 3rd i have changed the oil and filter and no difference thanks

Answer
Hi Johnnie,
I suspect there is nothing wrong. The possibilities are that the oil pressure is really too low, or that the oil pressure sensor is inaccurate, or that the pressure is slightly lower than would be necessary to make up for a slightly inaccurate sensor but which you can correct by asking them to use the next higher "weight" (viscosity) at the next oil. Depending upon you budget you could just wait until the next change and try the last approach, or you could measure the oil pressure at idle and at 3,000 rpm with a gauge screwed into the hole where the sensor is now installed to see if meets the spec, and if so then replace the inaccurate sensor. Most likely the flicker will be solved by changing to a high number oil.
I don't believe that a brief flicker as the rpm drops momentarily is any risk. It would be important to measure the pressure if/when the warning comes up as more than a flicker, and certainly if it just stays on when you are driving (at idle if the light comes on continuously it is not a worry if it goes off as soon as you raise the rpm when getting underway). But never drive it at road speeds with the light continuously on, that is dangerous to the engine.
Chances are in the coming winter the oil pressure will go up due to the lower temperatures and the flicker may be less likely, so see if that happens and then just try the next higher weight at the next oil change. The sensor is usually located right next to the oil filter if you want to do anything about it or do any measuring.
That is how I would handle it.
