Chrysler Repair: 95 electronic transaxle limp mode/codes, inner mechanisms, move car

MY CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND I USE TO CUT IT OFF AND ON PROBLEM SOLVED. I WAS DRIVING ONCE AND TRANNY JUST DIDN'T MOVE CAR EXCEPT IN REVERSE. CUT IT OFF AND ON IT WAS COOL. NOW IT JUST STAYS IN LIMP MODE. SHOP SAID HE GOT LIKE 6 CODES DON'T HAVE THEM BUT I THINK IT WAS SILENOID AND SENSORS INPUT AND OUTPUT. IF YOU CANT HELP I WILL BURN THIS CAR

The main question is whether the problems can be solved by repairing something in the solenoid box/sensors (which would be not so expensive) or whether there is a problem with the inner mechanisms that would require removal and rebuild of the transmission (which is in the range of $1500-2,000)? If you will get the specific code numbers I should be able to tell you which repair is necessary. Also tell me what the shop said had to be done and we can compare that with what the codes tell us. Look at it this way, at least you have some codes to work from and not have to guess.
