Chrysler Repair: 1998 minivan: clicking courtesy lamp relay under dash, plymouth grand voyager, latch hook

Question
I have a 1998 Plymouth Grand voyager. Relay under dashboard clicking continuously even with the ignition off.

In the fuse block under the dash it is the relay in the lower right just above the fuses. What does this relay control?. I tried replacing it with another relay and got the same problem. what do you suggest?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Jdituro,
If it is the one at the very right hand end, that is the courtesy lamp relay. The one next to it is the fog lamp relay.  The relay is activated by the headlamp switch, and the body computer which senses when you open a door and tells the relay to light the interior lights (which is the click sound).  Do you notice the interior lights flashing in synchro with the clicking? Then I believe that you simply have a door whose latch hook is not in-board far enough to keep the door from moving slightly and falsely behaving as if it had been opened(as seen by the switch at the door). If that is the case, you can find out which one by pushing outward on each of the doors from inside the van to see which door one will cause the lights to come on. Then move the latch hook on the door frame in-board just enough to prevent that.
