Chrysler Repair: 2001 Dodge Intripid 2.7 L engine Timing, 4 stroke engines, dodge intripid

Question
Hello Roland I am replacing the Water pump and Primary Timing Chain on a 2001 2.7 L Engine. We have the new parts on. I wanted to double check to make sure the timing is all set correctly. So I was wondering if I start turning the crank how man revolutions on this engine does it take to make the timing marks all come back in line like they where when I started turning it. Thanks for you answer

Answer
Hi Calvin,
With all '4-stroke engines' it takes two complete revolutions of the crankshaft to return the valve train (and thus the sprocket marks) to their original position.
I hope that you had access to the full set of steps having to do with the tensioner installation and 'arming'. I have the '98 manual and can xerox and postal mail that to you if needed on Monday.
