Chrysler Repair: 93 intrepid,jerky feel in od, diagnostic capability, trans shop

I am left with a slight jerky feel when cruising in overdrive. It first started while commuting feeling jerky while running through the gears then started to loose momentum. engine was running strong pushed pedal to floor revs jumped up but made problem worse ,loosing more speed. pulled over let sit for a while and it would move agian, did this a few times till i got home. the next day car drove ok except for jery feel in od. had it looked at they said nothing wrong. now i dont trust it.....any ideas

Hi Mike,
The electronic transaxle has a self-diagnostic capability via a blue plug under the dash. If you take it to an independent (non-franchise) trans shop that is equipped with a reader that mates with the underdash plug you should be able to get a fault code readout from the transmission computer. The codes numbers are 2-digit, so get the code, if any, and let me know. Ask the shop for the number, the name, what it means, what should be done, and how much. Then we'll compare that to the shop manual for that code. The cost of the readout should be in the range of $40.
