Chrysler Repair: 98 minvan: no communication from TCM code, transmission control module, continuity tester

Question
computer scan showes - no CCD messages from ICM
1.  open CCD bus-line
2.  failed TCM
What should I look for

Answer
Hi Greg,
Is that a typo? I don't know what an 'ICM' is. Is there a fault code number, or "just no CCD message from ?"? Maybe does it mean instrument cluster module? but that is not the ordinary term that is used when speaking of the instrument cluster. Please use the 'thank/rate' tab below to get back to me with the answer, as that way you won't have to wait for me to be available.

it was a typo "TCM" is correct the print-out I have is hard to read

Hi Greg,
That is helpful. If your transmission is operating normally and there are no transmission fault codes other than no ccd bus message. then there are two wires to test at the transmission control module's 60-way plug. Use a continuity tester or an ohm meter to check for continuity (or 0 ohms resistance) between pin 43 (violet brown wire) and pin 3 of the diagnostic reader socket. Then check from pin 4 of the TCM plug (white/black wire) to pin 11 of the diagnostic reader socket. If both those wires are patent, then the instruction from the '98 body diagnostic manual is to replace the transmission control module.
If there is also a code for a specific trans problem, then let me know what it is.
Please let me know what you learn.
