Chrysler Repair: 00 2.4L spark plug hole threads, plug holes, torque wrench

Question
do this year have a problem with the engine block my sparkplugs will not stay in mechanic says my fault

Answer
Hi TJ,
Do the spark plugs unscrew, or frankly blow out? The cylinder head is the question (not the engine block) by the way. The spark plugs should be torqued to 20 foot-pounds using a torque wrench. If they will not torque to that level then the threads are damaged. You can correct the problem by using "inserts" which essentially tap a slightly larger hole, then cement in place replacement threads for the damaged threads. That would be the fix if your plug hole threads have been damaged too much by overtorqueing or cross threading.
I have not heard of a weakness with the 2.4L threads on the spark plug holes.
