timing chain issues.i line up secondary sprocket dots straight up inline with cams then the primary sprocket on left head will not line up straight up and down as shown on snap on's shop key 5 am i doing something wrong that i can't see or what

Hi Gary,
I am unclear about what aspect you are speaking about. However, the timing of the secondary chains and the primary chains is complex enough that I believe you need the  Chrysler shop manual to do it correctly. The timing marks on the secondary sprocket are supposed to be aligned at the point they are at 90 degrees to the surface of the head, and then you count chain pivots between the intake and exhaust chain marks. It needs a diagram and explanation to do this. I can xerox copy and mail you the pages by US post office. I have a '98 manual and an '03 manual so let me know which year of engine you have if you want the pages. I can copy these for 10 cents a side. If you would be so kind as to reimburse my copy cost and postage after you get the pages I would be appreciative.
