Chrysler Repair: blower motor resistor 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager, plymouth grand voyager, blower motor resistor

Question
Where is the blower motor resistor located on a 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE?

Answer
Hi Mike,
In the '98 manual I have it is shown to be located under the hood at the rear of the compartment on the firewall area where there are several rectangular openings. The block is hidden from view below the wiper module on the lower edge of one of those openings. It has a 5 wire plug on the cabin side of the the opening. If you don't find it, then I know in the 2001 model it was in the cabin, behind the glove box again with the resistors sticking thru the firewall where the air intake would cool them. I just don't know in what year the block was moved between '98 and '01
If you find it in the first location you use a couple of flat blade screwdrivers to release the block and pull it into the engine compartment. On the hidden side push on a spring tang on the driver's side narrow edge of the block and on the comparment side you will see a couple of etched lines on that same side showing where to put the tip of the other screwdriver to pry it forward into the compartment.
Get a replacement block and install making sure the resistors aren't touching one another. If you have trouble removing it I can send you a page that shows what I described above. PS Please let me know where you find the resistor block to be located. Use the 'thank and rate' tab to get back to me quickly without having to wait for me to be "available"
